Meador's Garden Center & Landscaping carries seasonal bulbs during the fall. These include paperwhites, tulips, hyacinths, amarynth, irises and daffodils.

Paperwhites

Full sun/partial shade
Height: 18 inches
Plant after November 15 or force indoors
Bloom time: 4-6 weeks after planting
Can be enjoyed indoors, fragrant perennial
  1. Loosen soil and dig a hole 3-4 inches deep, spaced 1 inch apart. Clusters of 3-5 bulbs look best.
  2. Optional: Add small handful of bone meal to the bottom of each hole.
  3. Place bulbs in hole with roots facing down.
  4. Fill the hole with a mixture of your native soil and compost, and water thoroughly.
  5. Optional: Top with around two inches of mulch.

Tulips

Full sun
Height: 22 inches
Plant after November 15
Bloom time: mid-Spring
Excellent cut flower, annual
  1. Chill for 6-8 weeks in a mesh or paper bag in a designated crisper in your refrigerator.
  2. Loosen soil and dig a hole 6 inches deep, spaced 6 inches apart.
  3. Optional: Add small handful of bone meal to the bottom of each hole.
  4. Place bulbs in hole with roots facing down.
  5. Fill the hole with a mixture of your native soil and compost, and water thoroughly.
  6. Optional: Top with around two inches of mulch.

Hyacinth

Full sun
Height: 10 inches
Plant after November 15 or force indoors
Bloom time: Early-Mid Spring

  4. Just barely cover bulb with a mixture of your native soil and compost, and water thoroughly.
  5. Optional: Top with around two inches of mulch.

Daffodils

Full sun/partial shade
Height: 18 inches
Plant after November 15
Bloom time: early
