Paperwhites

Full sun/partial shade

Height: 18 inches

Plant after November 15 or force indoors

Bloom time: 4-6 weeks after planting

Can be enjoyed indoors, fragrant perennial

  • Loosen soil and dig a hole 3-4 inches deep, spaced 1 inch apart. Clusters of 3-5 bulbs look best.
  • Optional: Add small handful of bone meal to the bottom of each hole.
  • Place bulbs in hole with roots facing down.
  • Fill the hole with a mixture of your native soil and compost, and water thoroughly.
  • Optional: Top with around two inches of mulch.

Tulips

Height: 22 inches

Plant after November 15

Bloom time: mid-Spring

Excellent cut flower, annual

  • Chill for 6-8 weeks in a mesh or paper bag in a designated crisper in your refrigerator.
  • Loosen soil and dig a hole 6 inches deep, spaced 6 inches apart.
  • Optional: Add small handful of bone meal to the bottom of each hole.
  • Place bulbs in hole with roots facing down.
  • Fill the hole with a mixture of your native soil and compost, and water thoroughly.
